Brioche hamburger buns
Your burger or pulled pork sandwich will be really delicious if you make your own hamburger buns. Double the recipe for a larger gathering. Your guests will love these brioche hamburger buns!
Makes 10 - 12 buns
250 ml lukewarm water (37 degrees celcius/ 99 degrees farenheit)
3 tbsp lukewarm milk
25 g yeast
2,5 tbsp sugar
1 + 1 egg
750 ml (500 g) self-raising flour
50 g butter
1,5 tsp salt
sesame seeds
Heat the milk and the water until it´s lukewarm. Put the yeast in a large bowl and pour the liquid over it and stir until dissolved
Mix in the butter, one egg and the flour and knead the dough for about 10 minutes. Add the salt to the dough and mix for another minute. Let the dough rise for 1-2 hours under a cloth.
Divide the dough in 80 gr pieces. Form to even round buns, place onto a baking tray and let rise under a cloth for at least another hour.
Heat the oven on convention to 200 c / 400 f. Beat the egg well and brusch on top of each bun an sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
